• The yellow cow, Franz Marc

For Marc, colours symbolize precise things: yellow represents feminity: it could symbolize Harriet.

She said Ben was like a "bruise" in her stomach (when she was pregnant withm him). The black stain could represent Ben hurting her.

Finally, this black stain could also be Harriet's soul that's to say with a dark and hidden face related to her hubristic behavior, her negative behavior. Thus she poisoned Ben who was inside her stomach and he may be the epitome of Harriet's devilish personality. That's why he mirrors her soul.

Harriet's feelings when she was pregnant with Ben

Here is a music montage about Harriet's feelings when she was pregnant with Ben:

    1. Requiem for a dream by Clint Mansell

    2. Help by the Beatles

    Help, I need somebody,
    Help, not just anybody,
Help, you know I need someone, help.

And now my life has changed in oh so many ways,
My independence seems to vanish in the haze.
But every now and then I feel so insecure,
I know that I just need you like I've never done before.

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being 'round.
Help me, get my feet back on the ground,
Won't you please, please help me.

When I was younger, so much younger than today,
I never needed anybody's help in any way.
But now these days are gone, I'm not so self assured,
Now I find I've changed my mind and opened up the doors.

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being 'round.
Help me, get my feet back on the ground,
Won't you please, please help me, help me, help me, oh.

    3. The fight by the Rasmus

    Everything is still and calm
    In the dead of night
    Right before for the fight
Clouds are gathering for the storm
Destiny decides who will live or die

I've been waiting for this moment
    It's time for the battle
Even if I never make it
    Take me home
I might never get my story
    Carved in stone
    But I will rise again
The fight is to the end

    4. Russian Roulette by Rihanna

Take a breath, take it deep
    Calm yourself

And you can see my heart, beating
Oh oh you can see it through my chest
Said I’m terrified, but I’m not leaving
Know that I must pass this test
And you can see my heart, beating
Oh you can see it through my chest
I I I’m terrified but I’m not leaving (no, no)
Know that I must pass this test
    So just pull the trigger

    5. Peer Gynt by Edvard Grieg

    Explanation:

    2. Harriet needed help and gave up because it was too much painful: she sent a distress call to her mother Dorothy.

    3. When Ben is inside her stomach, it's as if there was a battle between the mother and his child. Ben seemed to be stronger than her because she finally had to "abdicate"

    4. It could refer to Harriet's nightmares related to Ben.

    5. She needed to escape from her pain. For instance she wanted to organize parties.
